Missing page 39; Yokuwakaru gendai mahou v01c02

A grave error has been made, but thanks to g125125’s keen eyes, I am attempting to rectify it. I carelessly forgot to include page 39 in my release of Yokuwakaru gendai mahou v01c02 from September 19, 2009.
I’ve corrected the file on tashibot (the XDCC bot) and also on the website. The file size of the proper .zip is 7.16MB, so please ensure you have the correct one! Another easy check would just be to make sure page 39 is there.

Another option is to only download the missing page 39 from yokuwakaru gendai mahou v01c02 and stick it in the chapter 2 folder yourself. Download by opening the image, right clicking it and choosing “Save image as…”

Today, chapter 8 of yokuwakaru gendai mahou is released! Kaho’s backstory is explored in this chapter. This marks the completion of the first volume. And there is definitely a second volume, which I don’t have, and which I’m not planning to translate. So, I hope you enjoyed the art or something at least and maybe laughed at the funny parts.

This weekend brings the release of chapter seven of yokuwakaru gendai mahou. In chapter seven, fighting and friendship are both showcased. Yumiko and Koyomi are involved both in the fighting and the friendship. What an exciting chapter! It’s called “Battle Athletes” but I could not even hazard a guess as to why it is so named. The next chapter, “Daisy, Daisy,” is the final chapter of volume 1. I don’t know if there is a volume 2, and I don’t have any plans to continue the series after finishing volume 1.

On an unrelated note, tashi translations is looking to add to its staff. The available position is “cheerleader.” If you feel confident in your ability to encourage, stop by #tashi @ irchighway for consideration. No other skills are necessary, and there are no incentives for taking on such a role.
Today brings us “chapter” 3 of himegimi no aikon. The way this manga is sectioned has no rhyme or reason! This time there was a non-numbered two page note from the author… Well, I hope you’ll bear with my selfish and careless way of releasing this manga.
The pace really picks up in this chapter, and it even has a cliffhanger, like it’s supposed to end where I ended it! How cool is that.

Also, I have the pleasure of thanking people for commenting and visiting the IRC channel. When I first started doing this, I didn’t know if anyone would read my stuff, or like it, or anything. Here we are, six weeks later, and I appreciate your appreciation. Thanks!
This manga doesn’t really have chapters, but every 15 or 20 pages there’s a note from the author, and those are numbered, as if denoting a section, so I’m releasing based on those. Even though they’re not very good stopping points at all.
In the second chapter, the transfer student is revealed, and a battle ensues! Hold onto your hats! This one is very exciting.
Regarding release quality, last week I was scanning at 300dpi and scaling to 1400px tall, but man I had lots of troubles fitting words in the bubbles, and every page was a new challenge. This week, I’ve played with settings a little, turned off the auto toning feature of my scanner, and I’m scaling to 1600px tall. This makes words fit much more easily! I might continue to play with the contrast / leveling options to try to get the best preservation of grays, but I plan on keeping future releases at 1600px tall. Sorry for the inconsistency.
Alright, if you want himegimi no aikon v01c02 have at it. Alternatively, use the trigger !hna02 in #tashi on irchighway to get it from the XDCC bot, tashibot.

I ordered this manga from amazon.co.jp a couple weeks ago, and wasn’t expecting it until I was closer to finished with yokuwakaru gendai mahou, but sometimes life is lucky.
This shoujo manga is about Asakura Aki, a 14 year old girl who is very talented at running. In fact, she’s the fastest at her school! Until a new super fast guy transfers, that is. The eligible bachelors in her life include a 15 year old who is her tutor and childhood friend, named Shiiba Chihaya, the male student council representative, named Jun, and the transfer student.

Another weekend, another release. Chapter 4 of yokuwakaru gendai mahou is named “Stray Cats” and has lots of cats and lots of Koyomi [Fig. A].

This weekend I’m releasing chapter 3 of yokuwakaru gendai mahou. It’s shorter than chapter 2, but has a lot of Yumiko-chan so I’m sure it will be well received. It’s called “School Days.”
I’ve kind of been playing with the theme this past week. I turned the ugly cherries into happy hearts, so I hope that increases your enjoyment of this site.
